After clearing waivers on Wednesday, former Lakers wing Dalton Knecht is drawing interest from a handful of teams as a potential two-way target, Jake Fischer said on his latest Bleacher Report live stream.

According to Fischer, the Kings, Timberwolves and Raptors are among the teams considering Knecht, the 2024 first-round pick, for a two-way deal. They are the only three teams in the NBA with a two-way slot open, so none would have to waive anyone to add him. The Kings are also weighing their options at point guard after Ben Simmons’ season-ending Achilles tear, and could use that open slot on more backcourt depth.

Point guard Sean Pedulla is also in the mix for the Kings’ last two-way contract, Fischer says. Pedulla, Knecht and 2025 second-round pick Micah Peavy are getting consideration from “several overlapping teams,” and the Raptors are eyeing all three.

Fischer adds that Kevin Porter Jr. drew some interest from the Nuggets before Milwaukee waived him on Monday. He expects Porter to prioritize playoff teams in unrestricted free agency. Both were caught in roster crunches before the regular season, but Fischer believes there is a decent chance Dwight Powell rejoins the Mavericks and Pat Connaughton returns to the Hornets at some point, even if that is after the trade deadline.
