Grizzlies exploring trade market for GG Jackson II, Walter Clayton Jr.

The Memphis Grizzlies are exploring the trade market as they face two roster cuts before opening night, and GG Jackson II and Walter Clayton Jr. are two players who have come up in talks, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.

Micah Peavy is considered a strong candidate to be waived, but Memphis would prefer to make a deal first. The Grizzlies must cut two players before the regular season if they do not trade anyone.

Fischer did not name specific teams Memphis has spoken with about Jackson or Clayton, but noted that the Warriors and Heat were both intrigued by Clayton before last year’s draft.

There is some disagreement about how real the Jackson talks are. Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports he hears the Grizzlies are not discussing any Jackson trades.
