Jazz home opener 2026: free SeatGeek Plaza party, Mountain Purple carpet and 1,000 free shirts before Pelicans tip
Utah's free plaza celebration opens at 4 p.m. MT on Friday, October 23, with a player carpet walk, C.J. Miles autographs, 1,000 free sandwiches and 1,000 shirts for Jazz Rewards members before the 7:30 p.m. tip against New Orleans.

The Utah Jazz will throw a free outdoor party on the Delta Center’s SeatGeek Plaza on Friday, October 23, starting at 4 p.m. MT, hours before their home opener against the New Orleans Pelicans. No game ticket is needed for the plaza, so any fan in Salt Lake City can walk up for food, a live band, a player arrival and a chance at two giveaways.
The night also starts the longest homestand of Utah’s first month. After opening on the road in Memphis on Wednesday, October 21, the Jazz play five straight games at home, and the plaza party is the team’s welcome for all of them.
What fans get on the plaza
- Free sandwich: the first 1,000 fans to arrive receive a Chick-fil-A sandwich.
- Free T-shirt: the first 1,000 fans who show they are members of Utah Jazz Rewards get a shirt. The program costs nothing, and the team recommends joining ahead of time in the Utah Jazz app.
- Mountain Purple carpet: shortly after the gates of the party open, Jazz players arrive along a purple carpet on the plaza, stopping for interviews with the team’s broadcasters.
- C.J. Miles: the former Jazz wing signs autographs and poses for photos.
- Team Store pop-up: an outdoor shop sells merchandise, alongside food and drink stands and a live band.

Game tickets are sold through the Jazz, whose ticketing partner is SeatGeek. The team is also tying tickets to its streaming push: a fan who buys a new annual Jazz+ subscription before tip-off receives a pair of tickets to a home game of their choice, and a new annual SEG+ subscriber can pick a Jazz or Utah Mammoth game instead, while supplies last.
Fans staying home can watch on Jazz+ and SEG+, which will carry more than 75 Jazz games this season, or over the air on KJZZ-TV, Channel 14. KSL Sports Zone has the radio call on 1280 AM and 97.5 FM.
