The Sacramento Kings have re-signed center Viktor Lakhin to a non-guaranteed training-camp contract, Keith Smith of Spotrac reports. Sacramento had previously waived Lakhin, then brought him back with injuries in the frontcourt.

The 25-year-old is competing for the Kings’ open two-way roster spot. Playing time in the remaining preseason could depend on how quickly Sacramento’s injured bigs return.

Earlier waiver, then a return

The Kings waived Lakhin on October 5 after an Exhibit 10 signing in late September, according to RealGM. He was expected to join the Stockton Kings in the G League after that cut.

James Ham reported a Lakhin sighting with the preseason group on October 13. The October 14 Spotrac report confirms a new non-guaranteed camp deal rather than a finalized two-way or standard contract.

Background

Lakhin, listed at 6-foot-11 and 245 pounds, went undrafted in 2025 after college stops at Cincinnati and Clemson. He averaged 11.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 34 games for Clemson in 2024-25.

He spent 2025-26 with the Oklahoma City Blue of the G League, then briefly played for Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rico before a May 2026 release. Any two-way conversion or G League assignment would be a separate next step from this camp re-signing.
