Camp & injuries

Black and Penda add practice work

Anthony Black and Noah Penda did more work in Orlando’s October 4 practice as their workloads increased. Coach Sean Sweeney said both told him they felt great afterward. That is progress in their ramp-up; the comments do not establish unrestricted contact clearance or availability for a preseason game.

Event: October 4 practice. Team interview published October 4 at 12:05 p.m. EDT. Read the Magic camp update.

Duren’s extension is signed; availability is a separate question

Detroit announced Jalen Duren’s signed contract extension on October 3. The team did not disclose financial terms. A completed signing establishes his contract status; it does not, by itself, confirm a practice return, a preseason debut or a minutes limit.

Transaction announced: October 3 at 3:07 p.m. EDT. Read the Duren extension update.
