Norchad Omier has changed his mind on Minnesota and plans to sign a two-way contract with Cleveland, Michael Scotto reported, leaving the Timberwolves with an open two-way spot after waiving Enrique Freeman.

Forward Norchad Omier has changed his mind. After agreeing to a two-way contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, Omier now plans to sign a two-way deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers instead, Michael Scotto reported late Tuesday night.
Scotto added that the Timberwolves now have an open two-way spot, because they had already moved to waive Enrique Freeman to make room for Omier. Nothing has been filed for Omier in either city yet, so the Cavaliers’ signing is still a plan rather than a completed transaction. our Tuesday report on the original Minnesota deal has the background on the first agreement.
Cleveland has no open two-way slot, so it will have to waive one of its current two-way players, Tristan Enaruna, Riley Minix or Ernest Udeh Jr., before the deal can be made official. Which of the three goes has not been reported.
Omier already knows the organization. He started last season with the Cleveland Charge, the Cavaliers’ G League affiliate, before finishing the year with the San Diego Clippers, and he was set to rejoin the Charge to start this G League season before the Minnesota deal came together on Tuesday.
The Timberwolves still waived Freeman, who is dealing with a minor injury that Scotto said will keep him out for a few weeks, so their two-way list is down to Rocco Zikarsky and Zyon Pullin with one seat open. Scotto suggested Minnesota will reassess its options for that spot, which it can fill at any point in the season.
