Rogers Communications announced on October 1 that it had completed its purchase of the remaining 25% of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment from Kilmer Sports for C$4.35 billion. It now owns 100% of the Toronto Raptors’ parent company.

The price is for that remaining MLSE stake. It is not a standalone valuation of the Raptors or the purchase price for all of MLSE.

Full ownership follows earlier control

Rogers already held a controlling 75% interest in MLSE from July 1, 2025. The new development is the acquisition of the last quarter, rather than the first transfer of control.

The agreement for Kilmer’s stake was announced on July 6, 2026, with league approvals still required. The October 1 release announces completion.

What sits inside MLSE?

The company’s portfolio includes the Raptors, Maple Leafs, Toronto FC and Argonauts, as well as development teams and Scotiabank Arena. This transaction concerns that broader business, rather than a separate sale of the NBA club.

The next corporate step

Rogers says it will create Rogers Sports to bring its sports, media and entertainment businesses together, including MLSE and the Blue Jays. The operating model remains to be built.

Keith Pelley remains MLSE’s president and CEO and takes additional responsibility for Rogers Media. Mark Shapiro remains president and CEO of the Blue Jays.
