The Oklahoma City Thunder waived two-way guard Otega Oweh, the team announced in a press release Saturday. The move creates the two-way opening Oklahoma City needed after agreeing to a two-way contract with Micah Peavy earlier this week.

Oweh, 23, was the 41st overall pick in June’s draft out of Kentucky. He underwent season-ending surgery after rupturing his right Achilles tendon in an October 13 preseason win over Indiana. As a senior at Kentucky, he averaged 18.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals in 36 games and earned second-team All-SEC honors.

Oweh’s exit leaves Brooks Barnhizer and Josh Dix as Oklahoma City’s other two-way players, with Peavy taking the third slot.
