Wednesday night’s preseason slate keeps delivering: Ausar Thompson finishing in transition for Detroit in Minnesota, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo locking in a Fusion dance celly in Miami, Jayson Tatum heating up against Charlotte, Nick Richards throwing one down for the Heat, and Mikel Brown Jr. knocking down his first Brooklyn preseason three.

Duren to Ausar in transition

Detroit is visiting Minnesota on League Pass, and Jalen Duren found Ausar Thompson in the open floor for a clean finish. Thompson already owns the early steals story of the young season; this clip is the other side of his game, running the wing and finishing when Detroit pushes.

Giannis and Bam break out the Fusion

Before Miami hosted Brooklyn, Antetokounmpo and Adebayo ran through their new pregame handshake again — the Fusion dance from Dragon Ball Z. The Heat duo has been leaning into it all preseason, and the league account clipped the latest version as Nets-Heat tipped on League Pass.

Tatum’s first-quarter heater

Against Charlotte, Tatum racked up a game-high 11 points in the opening quarter, capping the run with a tough turnaround jumper. Boston is still sorting its frontcourt looks with Mitchell Robinson in the mix, and Tatum carrying the early scoring load is the baseline the Celtics need before opening night.

Nick throws it down

Back in Miami, Nick Richards slammed one home against Brooklyn — the Heat account labeled it simply “THROW IT DOWN, NICK.” Richards has been a rim presence for Miami this preseason while the club works Antetokounmpo into the halfcourt and transition looks around him.

Mikel Brown Jr.’s first Nets three

On the other side of that Heat-Nets tip, Mikel Brown Jr. buried his first NBA preseason bucket from beyond the arc. Brooklyn is using the finale to get younger wings minutes, and Brown’s early make from deep is the kind of clip the Nets want on the board before the regular season.
