Utah cut both forwards Wednesday after signing Moore earlier the same day. Funk had been on an Exhibit 10 deal since Oct. 5; Stars paths remain unconfirmed.

SALT LAKE CITY — Oct. 14, 2026 — The Utah Jazz waived forwards Taylor Funk and Chance Moore on Wednesday, the team announced. The cuts come as Utah trims a crowded preseason roster toward the Oct. 19 opening-night limit.
Moore’s stay lasted hours. Utah had signed the undrafted West Virginia forward earlier Wednesday to fill the camp spot left by Mohamed Wague’s waiver a day earlier. Funk had been on an Exhibit 10 deal since Oct. 5.
Funk, 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds out of Lancaster, Pa., spent last season with the San Diego Clippers in the G League, averaging 11.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 26.2 minutes over 41 games, with six 20-point nights. He also played for the Capital City Go-Go and Maine Celtics earlier in his pro career. In his lone Utah State season (2022-23) he averaged 13.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists and made the All-Mountain West Tournament and USBWA All-District VIII teams.
Moore, 6-foot-6 and 210 pounds, averaged 10.6 points on 53.1 percent shooting and 5.8 rebounds in 22.3 minutes over 29 games at West Virginia last season, with 18 double-figure scoring nights and three double-doubles. His college path also included St. Bonaventure, Missouri State and Arkansas.
Both moves fit Utah’s pattern of cycling Exhibit 10 forwards through camp and toward the Salt Lake City Stars. Earlier Wednesday, reporter Ken Clayton noted that signing Moore had pushed Utah to a full slate of presumed Exhibit 10 deals on the books at once, and that players on those contracts are often waived soon after so they can join the Stars and chase the seasonal bonus for spending at least 60 days with the G League club. The Jazz release confirms the waivers; it does not announce Stars signings.
After the cuts, Clayton’s tracked camp list still had Harrison Ingram and Jonas Aidoo on Utah’s roster among the late Exhibit 10 group. Utah’s next preseason game is Oct. 16 against Phoenix, and every team must be down to 15 standard contracts and three two-way deals before the regular season opens Oct. 20.
