The Clippers came out of halftime and took control of their preseason game with Denver at Intuit Dome. Los Angeles led 58-55 at the break, then opened the third quarter with layups off steals and Darius Garland passes before Rui Hachimura caught fire from outside. By the 4:32 mark of the third, the Clippers were up 82-71. Here are six clips, starting with the shot that sent Denver into the locker room.

Jamal Murray closes the first half

Before the third-quarter run, Murray closed the first half with a bang for Denver. He had 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting in 17 minutes, the most efficient line on the Nuggets side of the box score.

Garland lobs it to Derrick Jones Jr.

Garland’s touch set the tone for the second half. He floated it up and Jones finished at the rim to push the lead to 62-55 with 11:05 left in the third. Jones had 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting and 5-of-6 at the line by midway through the quarter.

Jones steal, Garland assist, Isaiah Jackson at the rim

Tyus Jones tried to thread a pass, Derrick Jones Jr. jumped it, Garland pushed ahead and Isaiah Jackson finished the running layup. Jackson had nine points and three assists by the late third, and Garland was up to seven assists.

Rui Hachimura’s tough bucket

Hachimura started his third quarter inside the arc, with a short jumper off a Wagler feed and a driving layup off an Isaiah Jackson pass. Those buckets got him going before the threes started falling.

Okay, Rui Hachimura

Keaton Wagler found Hachimura for a 26-foot three that made it 71-67 with 8:09 left in the third. Wagler had 12 points, five rebounds and three assists by then, and his passing kept finding the open shooter.

Another three for Rui

Garland swung it and Hachimura hit again from 24 feet, making it 78-69 with 6:33 left in the third. He had 16 points on 3-of-5 from three, and Wagler followed with a 27-footer of his own as the lead reached double digits.
