The San Antonio Spurs posted their own full-game highlight reel from Wednesday’s 123-103 preseason win over the Phoenix Suns at Frost Bank Center. What to watch for in the reel

Victor Wembanyama led San Antonio with 19 points on 9-of-14 shooting in 23 minutes, adding four rebounds and three assists with a plus-19. Stephon Castle scored 18 points with four rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes and a team-best plus-24. Carter Bryant knocked down four threes for 16 points, Ja’Kobi Gillespie added 13 points and four assists off the bench, and Devin Vassell finished with 12 points and six rebounds.

Where the game turned

Phoenix edged the first quarter 23-22, but the Spurs answered with a 38-26 second quarter and never trailed again. San Antonio closed the third up 92-75 and kept the cushion in the fourth. Jamaree Bouyea led the Suns with 15 points, four rebounds and eight assists, and Ryan Dunn also scored 15 on a perfect 6-of-6 from the field. The Spurs’ second-unit energy and Wembanyama’s two-way stretches are the easiest things to spot in this cut.

Why this reel
