RJ Barrett scored 20 points and Immanuel Quickley made five three-pointers as the Toronto Raptors beat the LA Clippers 114-106 in Vancouver on October 10. The preseason game at Rogers Arena completed Toronto’s two-game NBA Canada Series.

The official NBA box score records Barrett with five rebounds and five assists in 23 minutes. Quickley scored 18 points in 19 minutes, shooting 6-of-8 overall and 5-of-6 from beyond the arc. Scottie Barnes added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Toronto builds its advantage before the fourth

The Raptors led 24-18 after the first quarter, 57-45 at halftime and 89-72 through three quarters. LA won the fourth quarter 34-25 but did not erase Toronto’s lead. The final score gave both teams a 1-1 preseason record.

Toronto won the rebounding battle 48-32, including 18 offensive rebounds. Barnes collected six of those offensive boards. The Raptors shot 50.6 percent from the field and made 12 of their 29 three-point attempts, compared with 42.9 percent shooting and nine threes for the Clippers.

Bench contributions and the Clippers’ scoring

Jamal Shead and Collin Murray-Boyles each scored 13 points for Toronto. Murray-Boyles also had nine rebounds and two blocks, while Nimari Burnett scored 10 off the bench.

Rui Hachimura led the Clippers with 14 points, including a 7-of-7 night at the free-throw line. Darius Garland finished with 11 points and four assists. Baba Miller and Yuki Kawamura each scored 10. These were exhibition minutes, not regular-season results or a settled guide to either team’s rotation.
