Payton Pritchard scored 25 points and Jayson Tatum added 23 as the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 144-106 in their October 10 preseason game. Boston made 22 three-pointers and pulled away with 41 points in the third quarter.

According to the official NBA box score, Pritchard shot 7-of-12 from the field, including 5-of-8 from three-point range, and made all six of his free throws. He also had seven assists and four rebounds in just over 24 minutes.

Boston stretches the lead after halftime

The Celtics led 24-20 after the opening quarter and 63-42 at halftime. They outscored Philadelphia 41-27 in the third quarter and 40-37 in the fourth to finish with a 38-point margin. The official game record lists the result as final.

Tatum made nine of his 19 shots, including four three-pointers, and finished with five rebounds and four assists. Boston shot 52.1 percent overall and 45.8 percent from beyond the arc, with 35 assists on 50 made baskets.

Edgecombe leads Philadelphia

VJ Edgecombe led the 76ers with 19 points, four assists and four steals. Jabari Walker added 14 points and six rebounds. Philadelphia shot 38.6 percent from the field and made 15 of its 53 three-point attempts.

Boston also won the rebounding battle 63-34 and collected 19 offensive rebounds. The numbers explain the size of the exhibition margin, but one preseason game does not settle either team’s regular-season outlook or rotation.
