Donovan Mitchell is extending his Adidas partnership, with the renewed deal intended to carry the Cleveland guard’s signature shoe line through a tenth model.

Shams Charania reported the multiyear agreement on October 1. Mitchell also discussed the renewal in an interview with Ashley Nicole Moss released that day, explaining that the relationship’s community work helped make staying with the company appealing.

What the renewal covers

The planned continuation of the D.O.N. series is the central product commitment. Mitchell described being on his eighth shoe in the interview; a tenth model is a future milestone, not a shoe that has already launched.

No dollar amount or exact number of contract years was disclosed in the reporting and interview reviewed. There is also no confirmed release date for the ninth or tenth models in those accounts.

That distinction matters when assessing the announcement: a plan to keep developing the signature line does not establish a particular retail launch schedule or the value of the endorsement agreement.

Education remains part of the partnership

Mitchell said support for educational opportunities at his former school, Greenwich Country Day, was an important part of the discussions. The renewed relationship includes further school support, rather than only new footwear.

The news concerns his off-court endorsement partnership. It is separate from his playing contract with the Cavaliers and does not announce a change of NBA team.
