Friday NBA injury report: Knueppel out with a left hamstring strain, Allen questionable with a right knee contusion and Krejčí listed with a left ankle fracture

Charlotte ruled Kon Knueppel out Friday with a left hamstring strain, Cleveland listed Jarrett Allen questionable with a right knee contusion, and Portland formally posted Vít Krejčí with a left ankle fracture on the overnight NBA injury report.

The NBA’s overnight injury report for Friday’s slate settled three of the biggest open questions from Wednesday night: Kon Knueppel is out with a left hamstring strain against Boston, Jarrett Allen is questionable with a right knee contusion against Philadelphia, and Portland has formally listed Vít Krejčí with a left ankle fracture for the game at the Lakers. Teams can still change designations before tipoff.

Knueppel: left hamstring strain, out vs. Boston

Charlotte’s report upgrades Wednesday’s “left leg soreness” exit into a left hamstring strain and already rules Knueppel out for Friday’s home game against the Celtics. It is the same area that kept him out of training camp and the Hornets’ first eight games before his brief season debut at Brooklyn, when he played under six minutes. Grant Williams remains out with a right hamstring strain. Moussa Diabaté (right quadriceps tendinopathy) and Dennis Schröder (left thigh soreness) are questionable.

Rod Boone summarized the Hornets’ Friday list after the filing:

Boston lists Payton Pritchard questionable with a right eye abrasion. Our Wednesday night wrap covered Knueppel’s debut exit before the diagnosis landed.

Allen: right knee contusion, questionable vs. Philadelphia

Allen’s Thursday exam produced a right knee contusion on the official report, and Cleveland has him questionable for Friday’s home game against the 76ers. That is the first formal diagnosis after he left the Thunder game in the first quarter and told reporters he was “alright,” with Kenny Atkinson saying the team would look at the knee Thursday. Tyrese Proctor is also questionable with a left ankle sprain from that same night, Peyton Watson is questionable for right hamstring injury management, and Jaylon Tyson remains out with a right ankle sprain.

Philadelphia lists Adem Bona doubtful with a cervical spine sprain. Our earlier note on Allen’s postgame comments is here.

Krejčí: left ankle fracture on Portland’s list

Portland’s Friday report at Los Angeles lists Krejčí out with a left ankle fracture, clarifying the ankle-or-leg question Micah Nori left open after Wednesday’s win in Phoenix. The Blazers still have not posted a return timeline or a surgery decision. Ja Morant (left hamstring strain) and Shaedon Sharpe (right meniscus surgery) are also out.

Elsewhere on Friday’s overnight report

Anthony Davis is questionable at Atlanta with a right ankle sprain — we covered that separately. Jalen Johnson is questionable for the Hawks with a left ankle sprain. In Toronto, Scottie Barnes is questionable (adductor) and Kawhi Leonard remains out, with no new re-evaluation window on this filing. Dallas has Santi Aldama and Max Christie probable. Chicago’s Jalen Smith is not on Friday’s slate after leaving Wednesday with a hand injury and saying he hoped to play Sunday.

Nine games are on the board Friday, including NBA Cup group play. Tip-time listings and TV are on our weekend schedule. The injuries page tracks every team’s latest list as afternoon reports land.
