The Hornets have moved within the regular season roster limit by waiving guards Jarkel Joiner and Latrell Wrightsell, the team announced Saturday.

Joiner, a 6’1″ point guard who went undrafted out of NC State in 2023, signed Exhibit 10 contracts with Atlanta in 2023 and 2024, Toronto in 2025 and Charlotte this year. He spent his first three professional seasons in the G League and had his returning rights acquired by the Greensboro Swarm in a trade last month. Joiner averaged 10.9 points, 3.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 23.7 minutes per game across 49 appearances for Raptors 905 last season, and also played for the Vancouver Bandits in the Canadian Elite Basketball League this year before appearing in four preseason games for Charlotte this month.

Wrightsell, a 6’3″ guard who went undrafted out of Alabama earlier this year, is a high-volume three-point shooter who connected at 36% on 7.8 attempts per game while posting 13.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 27.3 minutes for the Crimson Tide last season. His Exhibit 10 deal, agreed in June, was not finalized until this week, so he did not play during the preseason.

Both players are expected to report to the Swarm this fall. Charlotte now carries 15 players on standard contracts, all guaranteed, plus three on two-way deals.
