The New York Knicks signed guard Jaden Akins to a two-way contract Wednesday and added center Tony Bradley on an Exhibit 9 deal as they reshaped their training-camp roster.

The club announced the signings through its public-relations account, alongside the departures of John Konchar and N’Faly Dante, who were waived.

Akins, 23, is already familiar with the organization. He played three games for New York at the 2026 Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 11.3 points and 2.0 assists in 23.6 minutes.

According to the Westchester Knicks, Akins averaged 15.1 points, 5.7 assists and 3.1 rebounds across 47 games for the Motor City Cruise last season. Westchester acquired his returning-player rights on September 14 in a trade that also brought Symir Torrence’s rights to the organization.

The returning-player-rights trade was a G League transaction, separate from his NBA signing. Players on standard NBA or two-way contracts remain attached to their respective NBA teams.

Akins spent four seasons at Michigan State and earned third-team All-Big Ten and conference all-defensive honors as a senior.

What Bradley’s Exhibit 9 contract means

Bradley’s deal is a one-season, nonguaranteed training-camp contract. Signing it gives him a camp opportunity without guaranteeing a place on New York’s regular-season roster.

Under the collective bargaining agreement, Exhibit 9 also changes the usual injury protection. If a player is injured while playing for the team and the contract is terminated before the regular season, the clause limits the covered injury-compensation payment to $15,000. Separate training-camp payments and any applicable Exhibit 10 compensation are preserved. These are the standard provisions of the clause, rather than a disclosure of Bradley’s complete contract.

Akins was specifically signed to a two-way arrangement, which allows service with both the NBA team and its G League affiliate. The two-way contract guide explains how that category affects NBA availability and playoff eligibility.
