Magic guard Anthony Black is getting closer to his season debut

Anthony Black has yet to make his season debut because of an ankle injury, but the Orlando Magic guard is getting closer. Black participated in the team’s shootaround on Friday, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

“No setbacks, no,” Magic coach Sean Sweeney said, Jason Beede wrote. “He’s doing a good job, still ramping up and looked good. So, (we’re) excited with how he’s progressing and when he’s ready to go, we’ll get him out there.”

Black was ruled out of Orlando’s season opener and has missed both of the team’s games. He also did not reach a rookie scale extension agreement before this month’s deadline and is headed toward restricted free agency next summer.
