Brooklyn and Portland are the only undefeated teams through mid-October exhibitions, while the Knicks and Kings are winless at 0-4. Here is the numbers snapshot before opening night.

The Brooklyn Nets and Portland Trail Blazers are the only teams still undefeated in the 2026 NBA preseason, each at 3-0, according to reports preseason standings updated through October 14. The Boston Celtics are next among perfect teams at 2-0. Regular-season records reset to 0-0 on opening night, October 20.
The contrast on the other end of the table is just as sharp. The New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings are both 0-4. The San Antonio Spurs are 0-3. Analyst Tommy Beer noted that the Knicks, Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder — one win among them — sit at a combined 1-10 while Brooklyn is 3-0.
In the Eastern Conference, Brooklyn tops the table at 3-0 with a plus-16.3 point differential and 123.0 points per game. Boston is 2-0 with a plus-24.5 differential, the widest among teams with at least two games. Atlanta is 3-1. Miami, Washington, Toronto and Orlando are each 2-1.
New York is alone at the bottom of the East at 0-4, averaging 102.0 points scored and 125.3 allowed for a minus-23.3 differential. Philadelphia sits at 1-2. Those exhibition marks do not set April seeds, but they fix the current board until tip-off.
Portland leads the Western Conference at 3-0 with a plus-23.3 differential and just 94.0 points allowed per game. Minnesota is 3-1. Memphis, Utah and Denver are 2-1. Golden State is 3-2 after beating the Lakers 101-89 on October 13.
Oklahoma City is 1-3. San Antonio is 0-3. Sacramento is 0-4 at minus-11.2. Portland’s latest win was 110-98 at Sacramento on October 13, with Deni Avdija finishing 26 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks in about 25 minutes.
NBA.com’s early season-leader tables — still drawing on a thin preseason sample — list Payton Pritchard at 25.0 points per game, Jayson Tatum at 23.0 and Luka Dončić at 22.0. Alperen Sengun sits atop assists at 10.0 per game and shares the rebound lead at 10.0 with Neemias Queta.
On WhyNBA’s single-game boards for 2026-27 so far, Austin Reaves’ 28 points against Golden State on October 13 is the scoring high. Two triple-doubles are already logged: Sengun with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists at Dallas on October 9, and Nikola Jokić with 22-11-10 against Chicago on October 11.
The standings page still carries final 2025-26 regular-season tables and notes that the live 2026-27 table starts updating after the first regular-season final. League leaders and stats hubs already hold last season’s qualified boards plus the growing preseason single-game and clutch cards. Exhibition records will not survive opening night. Until then, Brooklyn and Portland own the only 3-0 lines on the board.
