Oklahoma City Thunder guard Alex Caruso sprained his right ankle in the second quarter of Monday’s 125-114 home win over the Phoenix Suns and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Caruso rotated over to contest Dillon Brooks with 1:34 left in the half, and Brooks’ right foot collided with the inside of Caruso’s right ankle as the Suns forward jump-stopped across the lane. Caruso walked gingerly to the locker room, and the Thunder ruled him out shortly afterward.

He finished with nine points on 3-of-5 three-point shooting, three assists and two rebounds in nine minutes. The team did not announce a timeline after the game.

The sprain deepens an injury wave in Oklahoma City. General manager Sam Presti announced before the game that Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace will undergo surgery and are out indefinitely, and Chet Holmgren sat with right patellar tendinitis. The Thunder still improved to 4-0 behind Ajay Mitchell’s career-high 30 points. Dan Devine reported.
