Oct. 25, 2026 — The week of Dec. 7 to 13 belongs to the NBA Cup. The semifinals are played Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 8 and 9, and the trophy is decided Friday, Dec. 11, at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Regular-season basketball returns on the weekend with 14 games on Saturday and Sunday, and nine of them come with a themed night or a giveaway, from a Matthew Dellavedova bobblehead in Cleveland to Peanuts Night in Sacramento. Here is the whole week, with local and Cairo tip times.

The week before, with the Cup quarterfinals, is in our Nov. 30-Dec. 6 guide.

Tuesday to Friday: the Cup semifinals and final

The four quarterfinal winners from Dec. 4 and 5 meet in the semifinals on Dec. 8 and 9. For the first time, those games are not in Las Vegas: the higher seed hosts in its own arena, so tickets go through that team’s box office and only once the bracket is known. Both semifinals count in the standings.

The final on Friday, Dec. 11, streams on Prime Video and does not count in the standings. Hinkle Fieldhouse, the 1928 Butler University gym that is a National Historic Landmark, holds about 9,100 people, which makes it the smallest stage for a Cup final yet and one of the hardest tickets of the season. The full calendar is in our 2026-27 key dates and the Cup schedule.

No other games are listed yet from Monday, Dec. 7, to Friday, Dec. 11. In past seasons the league filled open December dates for the teams outside the knockout bracket after group play ended, so expect new games to appear once the eight Cup teams are set on Nov. 27.

Every themed night, Dec. 12 and 13

Tip times come from the league schedule. In December, Cairo is seven hours ahead of the East Coast, eight ahead of Central time, nine ahead of Phoenix and 10 ahead of the West Coast.

A giveaway with a number of fans goes out in the order fans walk in, so arrive early. A package item only comes with a ticket bought for that offer, not with a regular seat.

Saturday: Cleveland closes its 2016 celebration

The biggest night of the weekend is at Rocket Arena. The Cavaliers end their three-night salute to the 2016 champions, the team that came back from 3-1 down in the Finals, when the Warriors visit on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. The rematch comes with a bobblehead of Matthew Dellavedova, the reserve guard from that title team, offered through the 10th Anniversary Plan package. Our Cavaliers promo schedule has the other two nights.

Earlier that day, the Grizzlies give a knit hat to the first 3,000 fans at a 4 p.m. CT tip against Milwaukee on Big Memphis Night (Grizzlies giveaways). In Washington, the first 10,000 fans get a beanie designed by Tre Johnson III for the Hornets game, which also carries Jewish Heritage Night and a James Madison College Series night (Wizards promotions). Phoenix holds Sneaker Night against Minnesota, and Portland its Pride Celebration against Atlanta (Suns nights, Blazers nights).

Sunday: family nights and a holiday sweater

Sunday leans toward families. Indiana sells its Lucas Oil Family Night package, a ticket with a meal voucher and a hat, for Detroit’s 5 p.m. ET visit (Pacers family nights), and Chicago makes the Rockets game its Kid Nation Game (Bulls promo schedule). San Antonio goes holiday with Elf Ugly Sweater Night against the Clippers, with a Run Club towel package (Spurs promo schedule). The weekend ends at Golden 1 Center, where the Kings give a Kings and Peanuts hat to the first 10,000 fans and screen a Peanuts show with free popcorn before the Pelicans tip (Kings theme nights).

No giveaway or themed night has been announced yet for the other five games: Magic at 76ers, Knicks at Heat and Nuggets at Jazz on Saturday, and Celtics at Nets and Raptors at Thunder on Sunday afternoon.

What comes next

The weekend opens Saturday, Dec. 12, with Bucks at Grizzlies at 4 p.m. CT (midnight in Cairo). We will add the semifinal hosts, the Cup final matchup and any new games for the open dates once group play ends on Black Friday.
