The Raptors retire Kyle Lowry's No. 7 on Jan. 10 after two GROAT Nights with a T-shirt and bobblehead for every fan. The same week brings Drazen Petrovic, Elmo, Dr. Doom and Coby White bobbleheads. Here is every themed NBA night from Jan. 4 to 10, 2027, with local and Cairo tip times.

Oct. 28, 2026 — The first full week of 2027 belongs to Kyle Lowry. The Toronto Raptors turn Jan. 7 to 10 into a three-game celebration of the player they call the GROAT, the Greatest Raptor of All Time, with a T-shirt and a bobblehead for every fan and his No. 7 going to the rafters on Sunday night. Around the league the week also brings a Dražen Petrović bobblehead in Brooklyn, an Elmo bobblehead in Sacramento, a Dr. Doom bobblehead in New Orleans and a Coby White bobblehead in Charlotte. Below is every themed night from Monday, Jan. 4, to Sunday, Jan. 10, with local and Cairo tip times and a Game Center link for each game.

The previous week is in our New Year’s week guide, and the league calendar is in the 2026-27 key dates.

Kyle Lowry Celebration Week in Toronto

The Raptors announced in August that Lowry’s No. 7 will be retired in a postgame ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 10, when the 76ers visit Scotiabank Arena at 6 p.m. ET. Philadelphia is his hometown and was his last NBA stop. Lowry will be only the second Raptor with a retired number, after Vince Carter’s No. 15 went up on Nov. 2, 2024. He spent nine seasons in Toronto, made six All-Star teams as a Raptor and was the starting point guard on the 2019 championship team.

The week opens with two GROAT Nights. On Thursday, Jan. 7, against Minnesota, every fan gets a GROAT T-shirt at the doors, and the game is part of a Prime Video doubleheader. On Friday, Jan. 8, against Utah, every fan gets a Kyle Lowry bobblehead presented by Tangerine. Both giveaways are for all fans on entry, not just the first few thousand, so there is no need to line up hours early for these two. Sunday is Lowry Retirement Night, and the team’s own description promises fans will “witness history as the banner rises on the rafters.” For viewers in Egypt, the three games start at 2:30 a.m., 2:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. Cairo time. The full Toronto slate is in our Raptors theme nights guide.

The other bobblehead nights

On Thursday, Jan. 7, the Hornets hand out a Coby White bobblehead against Denver at Spectrum Center. On Friday, Jan. 8, the Pelicans hold Marvel Night against Orlando, and the first 6,000 fans at Smoothie King Center receive a Dr. Doom bobblehead. It is one of New Orleans’ last home games before the trip to Paris and Manchester; the full list is in our Pelicans promotional calendar.

Saturday, Jan. 9, is 90s Night at Barclays Center. The Nets host Houston at 6 p.m. ET, and the night honors the decade of Derrick Coleman, Kenny Anderson and above all Dražen Petrović, the Croatian guard whose No. 3 the franchise retired after his death in a car crash in June 1993. Fans get a Petrović bobblehead, part of the Nets’ Eras Nights series, and the team promises alumni appearances. The rest of that series is in our Nets Eras Nights guide.

On Sunday, Jan. 10, the Kings close the week with Sesame Street Day against Charlotte, presented by Delta Dental, with Sesame Street décor, Elmo meet-and-greets and an Elmo bobblehead in a Kings jersey for select fans. The Kings have not said how those fans will be chosen, so check the team’s site before the game. More dates are in our Kings theme nights guide.

Every themed night, Jan. 4 to 10

Tip times come from the league schedule. In January, Cairo is seven hours ahead of the East Coast, eight ahead of Central time, nine ahead of Mountain time and 10 ahead of the West Coast. No team has listed a themed night for Monday, Jan. 4, or Wednesday, Jan. 6.

The rest of the week

Tuesday, Jan. 5, has four themed nights: Community Heroes Night in Charlotte, Mental Health Awareness Night in Cleveland, the third hat in the Bulls’ Artist Hat Series in Chicago and Pride Night in Denver. On Thursday the Hawks host Single AF Night against Indiana, a night built for singles to meet at the game, and the Magic hold Mental Wellness Night against Cleveland. The Bucks’ BMO Custom Cap that night was designed by rookie Brayden Burries.

Saturday is the family day in Indianapolis, where the Pacers hold a Lucas Oil Family Night against Milwaukee, and at Chase Center, where every fan at the Warriors’ Educators Night against Chicago gets a Warriors backpack from Kaiser Permanente and Generation Thrive. In Portland the Trail Blazers celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage against Charlotte. On Sunday the Grizzlies mark Grizz’s birthday with a Super Grizz basketball for the first 3,000 children 12 and under, plus a ticket offer from $35 that includes a $10 food voucher and a Grizzlies squishy toy. Orlando and Phoenix both stage First Responders Nights, and Detroit holds Mentoring Night with a pet water bottle.

The Spurs and Pelicans also play their last games before Europe this week. San Antonio hosts Pride Night against Memphis on Friday and visits Atlanta on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET, 10 p.m. in Cairo; New Orleans plays at Miami that night. Their games in Paris on Jan. 14 and Manchester on Jan. 17 are in our Paris and Manchester guide.

How the giveaways and packages work

Items marked for all fans, like the Raptors’ T-shirt and Lowry bobblehead and the Warriors’ backpack, go to everyone with a ticket. An item with a number beside it, like the Pelicans’ Dr. Doom bobblehead, is handed out at the doors until the supply runs out, so fans who want one should arrive when the gates open. The Grizzlies’ basketball goes only to children 12 and under, and the Pacers’ hat comes only with a seat bought through the Lucas Oil Family Night offer on the team’s site. Teams can still add or change items during the season.

What comes next

The week’s first themed night is Hawks at Hornets on Tuesday, Jan. 5, and Lowry Celebration Week starts with Timberwolves at Raptors on Thursday, Jan. 7. The banner goes up after 76ers at Raptors on Sunday, Jan. 10, which tips at 1 a.m. Cairo time.
