STAMFORD, Conn. — Oct. 14, 2026 — NBC Sports has set its broadcast teams for the first two weeks of the 2026-27 season, and the headline is a familiar one: Mike Tirico, Reggie Miller and Jamal Crawford will call the primetime 76ers-Knicks game on opening night, Tuesday, Oct. 20, while Doc Rivers joins the network as a new analyst.

The network announced the assignments six days before the NBA returns to NBC, Peacock and NBCSN. Every member of last season’s NBA on NBC and Peacock crew is back, according to reports, with a few additions to the roster.

The Tip-Off tripleheader crews

  • Celtics at Pistons, 3 p.m. ET: Terry Gannon on play-by-play, with Robbie Hummel (Pistons) and Brian Scalabrine (Celtics) as the “On the Bench” analysts. The game doubles as the season premiere of that format.
  • 76ers at Knicks, 7 p.m. ET: Mike Tirico with Reggie Miller and Jamal Crawford, and Zora Stephenson reporting.
  • Thunder at Spurs, 9:30 p.m. ET: Noah Eagle with Grant Hill, and Ashley ShahAhmadi reporting.

Maria Taylor hosts NBA Showtime all night with Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady. The studio moves from the TODAY Show Plaza at Rockefeller Center for the opener to Madison Square Garden for the Knicks game, then back to Studio 1A for the late window.

Week two: Peacock Mondays and Coast 2 Coast Tuesdays

  • Oct. 26, Warriors at Nuggets (Peacock and NBCSN): Michael Grady, with Robbie Hummel (Warriors) and Austin Rivers (Nuggets) on the bench; Ahmed Fareed hosts the studio.
  • Oct. 27, Pistons at Knicks (NBC and Peacock): Mike Tirico and Jamal Crawford, with Jordan Cornette reporting.
  • Oct. 27, Trail Blazers at Lakers (NBC and Peacock): Noah Eagle and Reggie Miller, with Ashley ShahAhmadi reporting.
  • Nov. 2, Thunder at Cavaliers (Peacock and NBCSN): Michael Grady, with Hummel (Thunder) and Austin Rivers (Cavaliers) on the bench.

Where Doc Rivers fits

Reports list Rivers as a game analyst alongside Miller, Crawford, Hill, Hummel, Austin Rivers, Brad Daugherty and Derek Fisher. His first assignment, though, is in the studio: he joins Ahmed Fareed and Brian Scalabrine on NBA Showtime for the Nov. 2 Thunder-Cavaliers broadcast.

The rest of the lineup stays largely intact. Tirico, Eagle, Gannon, Grady and Jason Benetti handle play-by-play, Stephenson, ShahAhmadi, Cornette and John Fanta work the sidelines, and Grant Liffmann and Chris Mannix serve as NBA insiders. Frank DiGraci is the coordinating producer and Pierre Moossa the coordinating director.

The bigger NBC slate

Reports say it will carry 100 regular-season games this season, with Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights as its regular windows, plus All-Star Weekend and the playoffs. Peacock NBA Monday starts Oct. 26 with up to three games a night, and Coast 2 Coast Tuesday doubleheaders begin Oct. 27. Season 2 of Sunday Night Basketball tips off Jan. 24, 2027, with 16 games and seven doubleheaders running through April 4.
