Saturday, October 31, has seven NBA games, none of them part of Emirates NBA Cup group play, so they count only in the standings. Fourteen teams play, and four of them are on the second night of a back-to-back after Friday’s Cup openers: Philadelphia and Charlotte, who meet each other in Charlotte, plus Minnesota and Houston. The late game is Thunder at Rockets on NBA TV, with Houston chasing a 6-0 or 7-0 start against an Oklahoma City team missing most of its wings. Memphis, 5-0, hosts Sacramento, 0-5, and Portland visits Utah without Ja Morant, who is out for about a month with a strained hamstring.

Trail Blazers at Jazz tips first at 3 p.m. ET, and the other six games follow between 6 and 8:30 p.m. ET. Cairo is six hours ahead of New York until Sunday, so the Portland game starts at 9 p.m. on Saturday in Cairo and the rest tip between midnight and 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. Records below are as of Friday afternoon, before the Sixers, Hornets, Timberwolves and Rockets played on Friday night. The league’s official injury report for Saturday’s games had not been filed by any of the 14 teams as of mid-afternoon ET on Friday, so the statuses here come from the teams and their coaches, and our injuries page tracks every change before tip.

Clocks in the United States go back an hour early on Sunday, November 1, and from then on Cairo is seven hours ahead of New York again.

Trail Blazers at Jazz, 3 p.m. ET

Portland is 3-1 after its first loss, 124-103 at home to Memphis on Thursday. Morant left early in the fourth quarter of that game, against his former team, after feeling a twinge, and the Blazers said on Friday that imaging showed a Grade 2 strain of his left hamstring.

Morant will be reevaluated in four weeks. He had averaged 16.3 points and 6.3 assists in his first three games with Portland, all wins. Shaedon Sharpe (torn meniscus) is also out, and Robert Williams III sat out Thursday with a knee injury. Jrue Holiday is the likeliest guard to start next to Damian Lillard.

Utah is 1-4 and has had two days off since losing 117-111 to San Antonio in overtime on Wednesday, when Keyonte George scored 31. Lauri Markkanen missed that game with a sprained right wrist, and Jaren Jackson Jr. (torn MCL in his right knee) is expected to miss six to eight weeks. Jusuf Nurkić (right foot) and Trey Alexander (left knee bone bruise) are also out. Game Center.

76ers at Hornets, 6 p.m. ET, NBA TV

Both teams play on Friday night and then fly to Charlotte. Philadelphia was 4-1 going into its Cup opener at home against the Knicks, after rallying past Indiana 114-109 on Wednesday behind Tyrese Maxey’s 27 points. Jaylen Brown was questionable for Friday with a knee injury, so the Sixers may be careful with him on the second night. Jabari Walker (knee), Tacko Fall (quadriceps), Dominick Barlow (lumbar spine) and Ariel Hukporti (Achilles) are out.

Charlotte was 3-2 going into Friday’s game in Washington, though its point differential is among the worst in the league. Dennis Schröder (foot) was upgraded to probable for Friday. Kon Knueppel (hamstring) was recalled from the G League on Friday but remained out, Coby White (calf) has no timetable, and Grant Williams (hamstring) is due to be re-evaluated once the Hornets get home from their two-game trip. Kylan Boswell (knee) is also out. Game Center.

Hawks at Pelicans, 7 p.m. ET

Atlanta is 3-3 after holding off Cleveland 114-111 on Thursday, when Onyeka Okongwu scored a season-high 29 points with 12 rebounds and Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 25. That ended a three-game losing streak. Mouhamed Gueye (fractured left foot) and Henri Veesaar (torn right ACL) are out.

New Orleans is 1-4 and got its first win on Thursday, 132-120 over Sacramento, when Jeremiah Fears had 22 points and 13 assists and Zion Williamson scored 22 on 10-of-12 shooting. Herbert Jones was plus-27 in his first start. Jordan Poole (left ankle sprain) and Dejounte Murray (personal) sat out that game, and Yves Missi (left knee bone bruise) is out for an extended period. Game Center.

Cavaliers at Bucks, 8 p.m. ET

Cleveland is 3-2 after its three-game winning streak ended in Atlanta on Thursday. The Cavaliers trailed by 11 in the third quarter and got within one with 43.2 seconds left, but Donovan Mitchell missed two pull-up threes on the last possession. Meleek Thomas (right foot) missed that game.

Milwaukee is 1-4 and has not played since a 132-100 home loss to Houston on Wednesday, when Tyler Herro led the Bucks with 23 points. Saturday is the first of the teams’ meetings this season. Game Center.

Timberwolves at Spurs, 8 p.m. ET

Minnesota was 3-2 going into Friday’s Cup game at home against the Clippers, its second without Anthony Edwards, who had an arthroscopic procedure on his right knee on Thursday. The Timberwolves said the procedure was successful, and Edwards could miss up to two months. Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) is also out. Minnesota has outscored opponents by 12.6 points a game, the third-best margin in the league.

San Antonio is 3-2 and has won three straight after an 0-2 start. Victor Wembanyama had 36 points and 14 rebounds in Wednesday’s overtime win in Utah, where the Spurs closed with a 12-0 run, and Devin Vassell scored 17 of his 21 after halftime. Tobias Harris (calf) missed that game, and Jayden Quaintance has not been cleared for basketball activities. The Spurs have had two days off before hosting a Minnesota team on the second night of a back-to-back. Game Center.

Kings at Grizzlies, 8 p.m. ET

Memphis is 5-0 for the first time since 2014-15 after Cameron Boozer’s first career triple-double in Portland on Thursday, 18 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. He is the second-youngest player in NBA history with a triple-double.

Quinten Post did not return to Thursday’s game after hurting his ankle. Saturday is the Grizzlies’ first home game since their 4-0 road trip.

Sacramento is 0-5, the league’s only winless team, after losing 132-120 in New Orleans on Thursday, and it has been outscored by 16.6 points a game. A 5-0 team playing an 0-5 team has happened only once before since 2004-05. Memphis already beat the Kings 123-112 in Sacramento on October 25. Keegan Murray (ankle), Maxime Raynaud (knee) and Dylan Cardwell (calf) are all due for re-evaluations in early November, and Ben Simmons is out after surgery on a torn right Achilles tendon. Game Center.

Thunder at Rockets, 8:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV

Houston was 5-0 going into Friday night’s Cup game in Dallas, and Saturday is its second game in two nights. Alperen Sengun was questionable for Friday with low back soreness and Marcus Smart with a forearm injury, so their status for Saturday may depend on how Friday goes. Reed Sheppard (back) and Steven Adams (right soleus strain) are out.

Oklahoma City is 4-1 after its first loss, 120-96 in Dallas on Wednesday, when Ajay Mitchell scored 29. The Thunder have had two days off and signed Ochai Agbaji on Friday to fill their 15th roster spot. Jalen Williams (fractured left fibula), Cason Wallace (torn left labrum), Otega Oweh (Achilles), Nikola Topić (back) and Thomas Sorber (knee) are out, Alex Caruso (right ankle sprain) is expected to miss time, and Chet Holmgren (right knee patellar tendinitis) has missed the last two games. Game Center.
