All 10 games on Friday, October 30, the opening night of Emirates NBA Cup group play, with Eastern and Cairo tip times, US TV and injury news, led by Lakers at Warriors and unbeaten Rockets at Mavericks.

Friday, October 30, has 10 NBA games, and every one of them is an Emirates NBA Cup group-stage game, so the results count in both the standings and the Cup groups. Twenty of the league’s 30 teams play, none of them on the second night of a back-to-back. The late national game is Lakers at Warriors on Prime Video, where Luka Dončić is off the injury report after sitting out Wednesday with back tightness, and Knicks at 76ers is the early Prime Video game. The unbeaten Houston Rockets, 5-0, visit Dallas, two nights after the Mavericks handed Oklahoma City its first loss.
Four games tip at 7:30 p.m. ET, Hornets at Wizards at 7, three games at 8 and the two West Coast games at 10. Egypt’s clocks went back an hour at midnight on Thursday night, so Cairo is now six hours ahead of New York, and the games tip between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Saturday in Cairo. None of these 20 teams played on Thursday, so the records below are current. Statuses follow the league’s official injury report as of 3 a.m. ET Friday (9 a.m. in Cairo), when all 20 teams had filed, and our Friday injury report and injuries page track every change before tip.

The six-hour gap lasts only until Sunday, November 1, when clocks in the United States go back and Cairo is seven hours ahead of New York again.
Charlotte is 3-2 and lost 97-89 in Detroit on Wednesday, when Brandon Miller had 31 points and 12 rebounds. Miller scored 39 when the Hornets beat Washington 110-103 on Monday, and Friday is the second game between the teams in five days. Kon Knueppel (hamstring) is out on a G League assignment as he nears his season debut, Coby White (left calf strain) and Grant Williams (right hamstring strain) are out, and Dennis Schröder is questionable with soreness in his right foot.
Washington is 2-3 after a 121-111 loss in Cleveland, where AJ Dybantsa scored 19 points in 26 minutes in his NBA debut after missing four games with a sprained left ankle. Tre Johnson was a late scratch in that game with right Achilles soreness, Brian Keefe called him day-to-day, and he is questionable on Friday. Justin Champagnie (foot) is expected to miss several months. Game Center.
Chicago is 1-4 after losing 133-127 at home to the Knicks on Wednesday, when Norman Powell scored 30 and Josh Giddey had 11 assists. Boston beat the Bulls 134-99 on Monday, with Payton Pritchard scoring 19 of his 28 in the third quarter. Patrick Williams (adductor) and Tobe Awaka (ankle) sat out Wednesday and are questionable, as is Jalen Smith (left finger sprain), and Nic Claxton (hamstring) is still out. Rookie Caleb Wilson scored 67 points in his first three games.
The Celtics are 3-1 and have had two days off since Jayson Tatum scored 40 and hit an overtime buzzer-beater to beat Brooklyn 125-124 on Tuesday. Devin Carter is out with mononucleosis. Game Center.
Detroit is 4-1 after beating Charlotte 97-89 on Wednesday behind Cade Cunningham’s 30 points, a night after losing 111-97 to the Knicks. Jalen Duren is due to be re-evaluated in two weeks with a strained right hamstring, and Isaiah Joe is questionable with a right hip contusion after missing Wednesday’s game.
Brooklyn is 0-4 and the only winless team in the East, after losing in overtime in Boston on Tuesday when Michael Porter Jr. had 27 points and 12 rebounds. The Nets announced on Thursday that guard Egor Dëmin has a bone bruise in his right leg from that game.
Dëmin will be reevaluated in one week. Tyler Bilodeau (shoulder) has also been out. Game Center.
The defending champion Knicks started 0-3 and have won two straight since. Karl-Anthony Towns answered Mike Brown’s halftime challenge with 27 points and 20 rebounds against Detroit on Tuesday, and Jalen Brunson scored 38 in Wednesday’s 133-127 win in Chicago. Jose Alvarado (ankle) sat out Wednesday.
Philadelphia is 4-1 after rallying past Indiana 114-109 on Wednesday, when Tyrese Maxey scored 17 of his 27 in the fourth quarter, Joel Embiid had 11 rebounds and LeBron James had 10 assists. Dominick Barlow (lumbar spine) and Ariel Hukporti (Achilles) are out, and so are Tacko Fall (quadriceps) and Jabari Walker (knee). Jaylen Brown is questionable with left knee soreness. Game Center.
This is a rematch of Wednesday’s game in Toronto, which the Raptors won 129-99 as Scottie Barnes scored 28. Toronto is 3-1, but it will be without Kawhi Leonard for about three or four weeks with swelling in his left knee, and Nate Bittle (right avulsion fracture) is also out.
Orlando is 1-3. Paolo Banchero (right high ankle sprain) and Jalen Suggs (right knee bone bruise) are out, along with Jonathan Isaac, Izaiyah Nelson and Noah Penda. Banchero expects to miss at least a month, and Suggs is due to be re-evaluated about two weeks from Monday. Game Center.
Indiana is 2-3 and will be without Tyrese Haliburton for at least two weeks. Rick Carlisle called it a mild left hamstring strain on Wednesday and said, “I don’t think it’s realistic that he would play before then.” Ivica Zubac (left ankle sprain) also missed Wednesday’s loss to Philadelphia, and T.J. McConnell (hamstring), Ben Sheppard (knee surgery) and Johnny Furphy are out. Andrew Nembhard had 14 assists on Wednesday and is probable with neck soreness, as is Aaron Nesmith (left hamstring strain).
Miami got its first win on Wednesday, 129-117 in Atlanta, as Giannis Antetokounmpo had 24 points and 18 rebounds and Bam Adebayo passed Udonis Haslem as the Heat’s all-time leading rebounder. The Heat are 1-4, and Simone Fontecchio (illness) sat out Wednesday and is questionable. Game Center.
Houston is 5-0 after beating Milwaukee 132-100 on Wednesday without Alperen Sengun, as Fred VanVleet scored 24. Imaging showed a mild back strain for Sengun, and Ime Udoka said he hoped it would be “a few games at most.” Sengun and Marcus Smart (left forearm strain) are questionable on Friday, Reed Sheppard is out with low back soreness, and Steven Adams (soleus) could miss a week or two. The Rockets beat Dallas 128-110 on opening night, when Kevin Durant scored 30.

Dereck Lively II (foot), Santi Aldama (knee), Tarik Biberovic (heel), Sergio de Larrea (knee) and Naji Marshall (illness) all missed that game. Aldama and Biberovic are doubtful on Friday, Marshall is questionable, and Lively and de Larrea are out. Game Center.
Minnesota plays its second game without Anthony Edwards, who had a successful arthroscopic cleanup procedure on his right knee on Thursday. The Timberwolves said he is expected to make a full recovery but gave no timeline, after earlier reports that he could miss up to two months, and Tim Connelly had said the team believes Edwards will be “good as new.” Edwards scored 133 points in four games, a franchise record. Without him, the Wolves lost 119-114 to Golden State on Wednesday, when Jonathan Kuminga scored 20. They are 3-2, and Donte DiVincenzo (Achilles) is also out.
The Clippers are 1-3 after losing 103-87 to the Lakers on Wednesday, and Tyronn Lue called their 24 turnovers ‘unforced’. Rui Hachimura (left quad soreness) is traveling and could return on the trip and is questionable on Friday, but Brandon Ingram, Max Strus and Yanic Konan Niederhauser stayed in Los Angeles to rehab. Bradley Beal (knee) and Jordan Miller (shoulder) are also out. Game Center.
The Lakers are 4-1 and held out Dončić (back tightness) and Ziaire Williams (left foot soreness) as a precaution on Wednesday, the second night of a back-to-back, then beat the Clippers anyway behind Quentin Grimes’ 23 points. JJ Redick said both woke up sore after Tuesday’s loss in Portland, when Dončić scored 41, and on Friday Dončić is off the injury report while Williams is questionable with left foot and heel injury management. Cameron Carr (oblique) and Adou Thiero (knee) are out. The Lakers won the opening-night meeting 127-105, when Dončić scored 28.
Golden State is 2-3 and has won two straight, most recently 119-114 in Minnesota on Wednesday, when Stephen Curry scored a season-high 44 and went 16-for-16 at the line. Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg added 26.
Jimmy Butler (torn right ACL) and Moses Moody (knee) are out, Kristaps Porziņģis remains away from the team indefinitely, and Gui Santos is doubtful after missing Wednesday with left knee tendinitis. Game Center.
Denver is 2-2 after beating New Orleans 104-91 on Wednesday, when Jamal Murray scored 23 and Nikola Jokić had 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Cam Johnson (right ankle sprain) missed that game and is questionable, Alpha Diallo is questionable for personal reasons, Spencer Jones (hamstring) is out, and Julian Strawther (left knee sprain) is out for several weeks.
Phoenix is 1-2 and has not played since a 125-114 loss in Oklahoma City on Monday. Some players are frustrated that the starting lineup has no traditional point guard, Chris Haynes said on Thursday, with Devin Booker leading the team at 5.3 assists a game. Oso Ighodaro (oblique) is questionable, and Mark Williams is out after shoulder surgery. Game Center.
Saturday, October 31, has seven games, starting with Trail Blazers at Jazz at 3 p.m. ET, and our schedule page has every game with Eastern and Cairo tip times. For Thursday’s three games, see Thursday’s schedule, and the latest statuses are on our Thursday injury report.
