The Timberwolves retire Kevin Garnett's No. 21 after their Feb. 28 game against the Celtics, with a T-shirt for every fan. The first week after the All-Star break also brings a Ted Turner bobblehead in Atlanta, Star Wars Night in Indianapolis, Black Excellence Night in Phoenix and Divine 9 Night in Memphis. Every themed night with local and Cairo tip times.

Nov. 1, 2026 — The first full week after the All-Star break ends with the night Minnesota has waited almost two decades for. On Sunday, Feb. 28, 2027, the Timberwolves retire Kevin Garnett’s No. 21 at Target Center after their game against the Boston Celtics, the other team that hangs his number. The week from Thursday, Feb. 25, to Wednesday, March 3, also brings a Ted Turner bobblehead in Atlanta, Star Wars Night in Indianapolis, Black Excellence Night in Phoenix, Divine 9 Night in Memphis and four City Edition nights. Below is every themed night with local and Cairo tip times and a Game Center link.
All-Star week is in our guide to Feb. 16-21, and the full season calendar is in the 2026-27 key dates.
The Timberwolves announced the date on Aug. 14 with the post below. Garnett becomes only the second Timberwolves player with a retired number, after his former teammate Malik Sealy, whose No. 2 was retired after his death in 2000. No other Timberwolves player has worn No. 21 since Garnett was traded to Boston in 2007, but the team never made it official while he was at odds with the previous ownership. He returned to the organization as team ambassador in December 2025.
Garnett played his first 12 seasons in Minnesota after the Wolves drafted him fifth overall out of high school in 1995. He was the league MVP in 2004, when he led the team to its first Western Conference finals, and he is still the franchise leader in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. He won the 2008 championship in Boston, where the Celtics retired his No. 5 in March 2022, and came back to Minnesota for his final season and a half before retiring in 2016. ‘Minnesota is home. That’s never changed,’ Garnett said in the team’s announcement.
Celtics at Timberwolves tips at 6 p.m. CT, 2 a.m. Monday in Cairo, as the Sunday night game on NBC, and the ceremony follows the final buzzer. Every fan in the building gets a Garnett jersey retirement T-shirt. The night closes a season of KG Theme Nights with Garnett figurines, listed in our Timberwolves giveaways guide. The team’s highlight video is below.
The Hawks close the week with the last of their four bobbleheads, honoring the late Ted Turner, the former Hawks owner who founded Turner Broadcasting. The first 5,000 fans get one at Bulls at Hawks, at 7 p.m. ET, 2 a.m. Thursday in Cairo. The other three bobbleheads are in our Hawks promotions guide.
Black History Month ends with a run of heritage nights. On Thursday, Feb. 25, the Cavaliers hold their Black Heritage Celebration against Sacramento. On Friday, Feb. 26, the Trail Blazers hold HBCU to the Pros Night against Dallas at 7 p.m. PT, 5 a.m. Saturday in Cairo.
Saturday, Feb. 27, has three. The Suns hold Black Excellence Night against New Orleans with special performances and an artist collaboration hat for the first 5,000 fans, the Grizzlies hold Divine 9 Night against Sacramento with a locally designed Grizzlies hoodie for the first 5,000, and the Bulls hold their Black History Month game against Brooklyn. More in our Suns theme nights guide, Grizzlies giveaways guide and Trail Blazers theme nights guide.
Sunday, Feb. 28, is the best day of the week to watch live from Egypt. The Pacers hold Star Wars Night against Toronto at 4 p.m. ET, 11 p.m. in Cairo, and the Magic hold STEM Night, with interactive science displays, against Atlanta at 4:30 p.m. ET, 11:30 p.m. in Cairo. The Pacers are back at home against Boston on Tuesday, March 2, for Healthcare Appreciation Night. See our Pacers theme nights guide and Magic theme nights guide.
The Pistons wear their City Edition uniforms twice, against Oklahoma City on Saturday, Feb. 27, in a 5:30 p.m. ET start, 12:30 a.m. Sunday in Cairo, and against Chicago on Monday, March 1. They also hold Total Health Night against Miami on Feb. 25. The Bulls start the week with their own City Edition Night against Atlanta on Feb. 25, when they hand out the fourth hat of their Artist Hat Series. More in our Pistons promo schedule and Bulls bobblehead guide.
On Friday, Feb. 26, the Timberwolves give a blind box to the first 10,000 fans against Indiana. On Wednesday, March 3, the Bucks hold Noche Latina against Utah and the Rockets hold Women’s Impact Night against New Orleans. Those nights are in our Bucks giveaways guide and Rockets promo schedule.
Tip times come from the league schedule. Until U.S. clocks change on March 14, Cairo is seven hours ahead of the East Coast, eight ahead of Central time, nine ahead of Arizona and 10 ahead of the West Coast.
