The Toronto Raptors have signed guard Kevin McCullar Jr. to a two-way contract, the team announced Thursday. The deal fills the open two-way seat Toronto has held since the end of preseason.

Michael Scotto confirmed the signing. McCullar spent the past two seasons on two-way deals with the New York Knicks before New York waived him in the first week of this season to create room for Dalton Knecht. our earlier report on McCullar clearing waivers after New York signed Dalton Knecht.

How Toronto had the seat open

Toronto waived two-way players Trey Jemison and Chucky Hepburn near the end of preseason, then converted Nate Bittle from an Exhibit 10 deal to a two-way before opening night. That left one two-way slot empty until McCullar signed. No corresponding roster move was needed.

What McCullar brings

  • 56th overall pick in the 2024 draft out of Kansas
  • 25 NBA games for the Knicks across two seasons: 2.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.4 minutes a night
  • 2025-26 G League with Westchester: 16.8 points, 6.2 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals in 31.4 minutes over 14 games, shooting 42.2% from the field and 29.9% from three
  • He can play in up to 45 regular-season games on a two-way; Toronto would need to promote him to the 15-man roster for playoff eligibility

Where it leaves the roster

McCullar joins Bittle on Toronto’s two-way list. The 6-foot-6 wing was an unrestricted free agent after clearing waivers from New York and gives the Raptors another wing option who can shuttle between the NBA roster and the Raptors 905.
